Chak De India is a movie that focuses more on the story of the film than the star power. This film is definitely one of the best sports dramas ever made. Apart from the iconic ‘Sattar Minute’ dialogue, the film taught us many things like teamwork, unity, and the love for our Nation. Shah Rukh Khan played the role of the coach who trained the women’s hockey team. He didn’t just want the team to win the World Cup, but he was also in search of redemption. Every minute of this film will give you goosebumps (especially the final match). This is exactly what the film Panga shows us. A mother trying to build her own identity beyond motherhood. The concept is commendable and Kangana Ranaut did justice to the role as always. 4. M S Dhoni: The Untold Story

The untold story of India’s most successful captain MS Dhoni was presented on-screen with such perfection that, Dhoni fans just couldn’t stop admiring the film. Starring Sushant Singh Rajput in the main lead, the film narrates the journey of Dhoni from being a ticket collector to the most desirable captain of the Indian team. The film was a huge hit, and Sushant was lauded for copying Dhoni from head to toe, and the credit even goes to Neeraj Pandey, the director, for bringing reality to the screen.

She fought issues like poverty and gender discrimination before making her name in the field of boxing. Global icon Priyanka Chopra played the role of the legendary boxer Mary Kom. The film showed the inspirational journey of the boxer, how she got back into boxing after delivering twins in the year 2007 and how she went on to win several awards. This film is one of the best sports biopics ever made.

7. Soorma

A biopic on a Hockey player was something we rarely expected from Bollywood. But when they released Soorma, it just blew away everyone’s mind. The story of how Sandeep Singh, nicknamed Flicker Singh, was shot accidentally and then how he made his way back into hockey serves as a lesson in what hard work and determination can do. The movie shows the kind of warrior Sandeep Singh was. The character of Sandeep was played by none other than Diljit Dosanjh, who proved his talent in acting with this single character. Before Farhan Akhtar won our hearts with the film Toofan, Vineet Kumar Singh nailed it in the role of a boxer in the film Mukkebaaz.
