The year 2007 was a much-celebrated one as the heir of the mega clan made his debut in films. Yes, we are speaking about Ram Charan. Son of megastar Chiranjeevi and brother of Pawan Kalyan, Ram Charan had a lot of eyes watching him as he stepped into the world of cinema. We must say, he is doing his part exceptionally well and has earned millions of fans.

This mega power star has done 12 films to date and is now all set for this 13th film, which is the magnum opus film RRR. Ram Charan’s look from the film has already set the expectations high and now millions are waiting for the release of the film. Donning a saffron dhoti-pajama and a bow-and-arrow, Ram Charan is seen aiming for the sky as his background burns in a sea of war. This poster depicts bravery, integrity, and honor, and who better than Ram Charan would have pulled a look like this?

Ram Charan will be seen playing the character of Alluri Sitarama Raju in this film. This SS Rajamouli film has been in the limelight for the longest now. The magnum plot of the story, the ensemble star cast which includes not just Ram Charan but also, NTR Junior, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn, and the man behind this amazing work of fiction – SS Rajamouli makes it one of the much-awaited and discussed film. Fans have a lot of trust in Rajamouli, especially after the success of the Bahubali franchise.

Speaking of RRR (Roudram Ranam Rudhiram), it is set in the 1920s, India. This movie imagines the two famed heroes Alluri Sitarama Raju played by Ram Charan and Komaram Bheem played by NTR Junior, meeting at some point in time. Since there is no written record of what happened to the two tribal heroes, when they spent time away from home, it will be amazing to discover what Rajamouli and his father KV Vijayendra Prasad come up with.

Speaking of RRR and Ram Charan, we have noticed that Ram Charan has a history of several periodic films, some he acted in and some he produced, all of which were received well by the audience. So, since we spoke about RRR, let me tell you about some more films, that will prove that Ram Charan has a thing for period drama films.

Magadheera (IMDB Rating: 7.7)

Available on: Amazon Prime Video

Again, a masterpiece by our very own SS Rajamouli. This film is based on reincarnations. It won’t be wrong to say that Magadheera showcased the true box office stamina of the Telegu film industry. The visionary storytelling technique of Rajamouli combined with the performance of Ram Charan and Kajal Agarwal made it an experience worth never forgetting. The horse-riding sequence in the flashback and the 100 Men killing episode still gives everyone goosebumps. Ram Charan’s craze manifolded many times after the release of this film. This was Ram Charan’s second film, but he pulled it off like a pro. Be it Harsha or Kaala Bhairava, Ram Charan made sure that he makes an everlasting impression on the audience. Ram Charan was also given the Nandi and Filmfare award for the same.

Rangasthalam (IMDB Rating: 8.4)

Available on: Disney+ Hotstar

Ram Charan was facing criticisms for the less- challenging films that he has been taking up for the longest time. Then, Rangasthalam released, and it was a tight slap on the faces of the people who questioned his abilities. He de-glamourized himself for Sukumar’s period action-drama film Rangasthalam. Ram Charan’s Chitti Babu is partially deaf, and the film is set in the backdrop of local politics of the 80s. Samantha Akkineni is paired opposite Ram Charan in this film. This film went on to become the highest-grossing film of 2018. Ram Charan deserves this win, as he not only transformed himself physically for the film, but he also put in the efforts to get the Godavari dialect correct. We must say, there is no one like him in the industry.

Sye Raa Narsimha Reddy (IMDB Rating: 7.4)

Available on: Amazon Prime Video

Well, Ram Charan hasn’t acted in this film. But he is the producer of this magnificent film starring Chiranjeevi, Vijay Sethupathi, Sudeep, Tamannaah, Amitabh Bachchan, and many more famous stars on the screen! Ram Charan once revealed in one of the interviews that he was supposed to shoot a scene for the film, but due to time constraints, his father Chiranjeevi and the director of the film decided to chop the scene. But, speaking of the film, Sye Raa tells the story of this rebellion leader from Rayalaseema who fought valiantly against the British rule in 1846. Ram Charan made sure that this film gets the monstrous budget, the best team, and technicians to make the film an experience worth remembering. We really wish Ram Charan were a part of the film.

RC 15 (Tentatively Named)

Ram Charan has joined hands with Sukumar yet again for a period drama film set in the 80s. He will be seen in a complete rural avatar in this upcoming untitled film. The first look poster is already out, and it is said that a mammoth budget will be invested in making this film and it will be an action entertainer. The project is likely to go on floors in early 2022. We are eagerly waiting for more updates on this film. There is one more thing that has gotten us excited – A R Rahman joins hands with the team too. Now the excitement is double.

Well, all the above films say that Ram Charan has a special thing for period drama films. What do you think? Do let us know!
